A space of one's own. No hierarchy. With depth.

To lead is often to decide alone — with incomplete information, under pressure from stakeholders, with no space of one's own to think. The board of directors is no substitute for the intimate work of thinking. Informal mentors have conflicts of interest. The team, however good, expects things of you.

Psingular offers leaders something few have access to: a protected space, outside the system, where they can think honestly about what they face — without performance, without a mask, without an external agenda.

A leader's loneliness is not a lack of people around them. It is a lack of space in which to think freely about themselves. Psingular · On Leadership

We work with leaders in moments of transition, difficult decisions, internal or external crisis. But also — and perhaps above all — in calm periods. Because it is in those periods that the thinking is prepared that will sustain the difficult decisions when they come.

Four ways of working with leaders

We adapt the format to the stage the leader is at. Always individual, always clinical, always confidential.

01

Ongoing support

Analytical coaching

Regular sessions over time. For leaders who want to keep a space of their own for thinking — without necessarily being in crisis. In-depth work, not merely surface work.

  • Fortnightly or monthly sessions
  • Commitment of six months or more
  • Work on identity as a leader
  • Space to think long-term
02

Critical moment

Support with difficult decisions

For specific moments — a decision that keeps the leader awake at night, a situation that calls for clinical reading before action. Intensive sessions, specific focus.

  • More frequent sessions (weekly)
  • Short duration, intense focus
  • Support with reversible and irreversible decisions
  • Coordination with other advisers when useful
03

Transitions

Support through transitions

Taking the helm of a new organisation. Leaving one. Selling a business. Founding one. Moments when the leader's identity reorganises itself — and deserves time for thought.

  • Support throughout the transition
  • Work on professional identity
  • Connection with personal life
  • Support with structural decisions
04

Management Teams

Work with the executive team

Sessions with senior management teams — board, executive committee, founders. To align strategic thinking, work on internal dynamics, rethink the decision-making system.

  • Workshops with the executive team
  • Clinical mediation of tensions
  • Work on roles and boundaries
  • Building a leadership culture

Four steps to begin the work

Working with a leader calls for real trust. That is why we build the process carefully, without haste.

The first conversation is free of charge and carries no commitment to continue.

01

Exploratory conversation

A first meeting to get to know each other, understand what brought you here, and see whether it makes sense to move forward. No commitment, no cost.

02

Defining the framework

We agree on the format, pace, setting and initial duration of the work. Everything is negotiable and adjustable — but it is important that we begin with clarity.

03

Regular work

Sessions at the agreed frequency. Space to think in depth about what your role asks of you — without haste, without performance.

04

Periodic review

Every three to six months, we talk about the work — what is working, what could be adjusted, whether it makes sense to continue.

"A leader's greatest responsibility is not to decide well. It is to remain capable of thinking."

Who comes to us

  • CEOs

    Chief executives and founders

For those at the top of the pyramid — where the structural loneliness of the role is particularly intense. A space outside the hierarchy, with no external agenda, no expectation of performance.

  • Managers

    Middle managers at demanding moments

Heads of department, team managers, technical leads making the transition into leadership. Roles that call for independent thinking and benefit from a protected space.

  • Entrepreneurs

    Founders in a scale-up phase

For those who have built something from scratch and are now making the transition from operator to strategic leader. One of the most difficult professional transitions — and one of the least supported.

  • Professionals

Professionals with clinical or educational responsibility

Hospital directors, university rectors, head teachers. For those who lead settings in which human care is central — and in which the leader's exhaustion is passed on to the system.

What you need to know

Confidentiality

Absolute confidentiality

Everything that happens in session stays in session. Even when the organisation sponsors the support, the content of the sessions is never shared.

Professional secrecy as established by the Code of Ethics of the Portuguese Psychologists' Association (OPP).

Sponsorship

Paid by the company or by the individual

The support may be sponsored by the organisation or paid for by the leader personally. In either case, the clinical relationship remains between leader and psychologist.

When sponsored by the company, invoicing is made to the organisation.

Team

Senior support

Work conducted by senior clinical psychologists, with experience in supporting leaders and familiarity with complex organisational settings.

Team introduced before any commitment.

The first step is a conversation.

An exploratory meeting — no commitment, no cost. So that we can get to know your organisation and work out together whether it makes sense to move forward.
