About
Joana Almeida is a clinical psychologist specialising in intervention with children, adolescents and their families. She coordinates Psingular's Paediatric Psychology area.
Her practice starts from a simple conviction: a child is not a small adult. Working with children demands another language, another setting, other tools — and, above all, the humility to learn to listen to those who do not yet have all the words.
Every child is a world. Listening to a child is the most delicate — and the most political — task in all of clinical work. Françoise Dolto
In her clinical work, play, drawing and narrative are not entertainment — they are legitimate and technically demanding clinical pathways. Her work always brings together family and school, because a child is, above all, a relational system.
